Benevolent the Immortal

04/13/09 ~ Woodlum

WooT! We finally scored "the Immortal" and not a moment to soon as patch is out in a matter of hours. That's right kiddies, check the logs, got that damn thing before it got cheesy easy or evaporated from existance, not sure, don't care, it is legit and we have been trying for about 6 weeks at this damn thing. 6 Raid IDs of "risk management" bullshit and 2 of them where KT RNG MC'd (acronyms whoa!) us a wipe at 30% and 50%, what a tease. RNG wouldn't happen to be Ice Tomb on the tank while the two healers in the rear on them are MC'd no? Or when your Melee has a Shadow Fissure develop under their feet while running with a Det Mana and two MC'd casters break out next to the exploding Ret Paladin. Yeah, that kinda heartbreak. So in light of our recent achievement, we didn't score drakes, I don't think any of us planned to get this at the last minute with the patch coming down the pipe but we scored it and are the 5th guild on server to nail it down. Cheers! On a good note, we have fielded a crew to take the OS103D challenge and succeeded. Congrats Benevolent!

As it stands now, we are geared and revving up for new content in Ulduar. Everything that would progressively matter is dead, and staying dead week in and week out, and to keep it fresh and our edge on we have worked our A off on many of the games achievements. And what of recruitment? I can't say that we have cared to much as of late as retention has always been awesome here, but I will go ahead and talk a little bit about us for those who are interested and might have considered gaming with us. I consider our little outfit as the premier guild of blended hardcore and casual interests. We have the hearts and minds of raiders who enjoy the content and challenges that come with it and in good company! But we also have interesting lives outside of the game and work to balance the two. How do we do it? I can't say any particular method of leadership provides for this but our overall strategy is to "raid smarter, not harder", which really means more things then an already wordy frontpage update can describe. But 20 hours of beating your head against content is not ideal if you can engineer internal and external methods to bring that number down... way down. I mean look, I would call us fairly successful noting the progress of our collective membership. And that probably starts at the basics with having players who are passionate about their class and role among other things, ideal social qualities and a desire for a friendly atmosphere. So if this all seems to fit you, then feel free to apply. Note retention has been especially good through LK, but if you are someone who can contribute to the environment here, and you are geared for Ulduar then we hope to hear from you!

Best Wishes!
